Frequently asked questions

What New York families most often want to know before reaching out.

A winding park path leading through the trees toward an open clearing
Do I (or my parent) need to be sick to work with Mind My Care?+

No. Many families come to me while everyone is healthy — to get medical records and coverage organized, to plan for aging parents who want to stay independent, or simply to have a trusted professional already in place before something happens. You don’t need a diagnosis to need a plan.

How does this work with our existing doctors?+

I work alongside your providers, not instead of them. I schedule appointments, gather and organize records, make sure referrals actually arrive, and prepare questions before visits. With your permission, I can attend or join appointments as your advocate and coordinate between everyone involved in your care.

Does Mind My Care replace our insurance or our doctors?+

No. Mind My Care is an independent care-management practice. I don’t provide medical care and I’m not an insurer — I manage the logistics and advocacy around your care, and I navigate your insurance on your behalf.

We’re scattered — siblings in different cities. Who gets updates?+

Whoever you choose. A core part of my practice is keeping the whole family informed: regular, clear updates to everyone involved, in the format that works for each of them, so no one is calling around to find out what happened at Tuesday’s appointment.

Is our information private?+

Yes. Your family’s information is handled with strict confidentiality and shared only with the providers and people you authorize. My systems are private by default, and access is limited to what your engagement requires.

How does an engagement work? What does it cost?+

Engagements are scoped to what your family actually needs — a focused piece of work or ongoing care management. After a short conversation about your situation, I propose an arrangement with clear terms in writing, and you decide. There’s no obligation from reaching out.

Do you work with attorneys on divorce or other legal matters?+

Yes. When a divorce, custody, or other legal matter turns on medical facts, I gather and organize the records, build clear timelines of treatments and significant events, and handle documentation requests so the attorneys and the family are all working from the same complete picture. I stay factual and neutral throughout — I’m not a lawyer and don’t give legal advice, but I make sure the medical side of a case is documented, organized, and easy to hand over.

Where in the New York area do you work?+

I work in person across New York City — Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx — and coordinate remotely with family members wherever they live.

How do we start?+

Send me a message through the contact page. I’ll get back to you within two business days to set up a short, no-pressure conversation about your family’s needs.
